Robert Farra

Robert Farra has over two decades of leadership experience successfully developing complex electro-mechanical and fluidic based medical devices and combination products. His development experience spans from concept generation through all stages of development and commercialization, as well as managing intellectual property. His product experience spans drug delivery combination products, implantable glucose sensors, life support systems, ventricle assist devices, artificial hearts, intra-aortic balloons and pumps, minimally invasive laparoscopic, endoscopic and surgical devices, as well as capital equipment and their corresponding single use devices. Mr. Farra has extensive experience managing multi-disciplinary teams including research, development, manufacturing, and quality personnel.

Mr. Farra served as Vice President of Research and Development for MicroCHIPS from 2007 to 2011. Prior to joining MicroCHIPS, he served as Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing for Abiomed. He has also held senior leadership positions at Accellent Endoscopy and Arthur D. Little, Inc. (ADL) where he led new product development efforts for Fortune 500 firms as well as startup companies. Mr. Farra has a BSME from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and an SMME from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he focused on analysis and design of closed-loop control systems. Mr. Farra has 12 domestic and international patents issued or pending.
